Sentier International des Appalaches

04

From late June to early October

This massive trail spans over 650 km and connects all the coastal towns of Quebec, New Brunswick, and the State of Maine in the United States! There are various pathways and trails that visitors can take, which range from easy to very difficult. The town of Matane’s section of the trail has many uphill and downhill sections, wooded areas with viewing decks, streams and waterfalls, and more. Some sights visitors can see include the Hélène waterfall, Chic-Choc mountain range, and Matane River valley, amongst other beautiful sceneries.

It is recommended that hikers plan their trajectory or split their hike into multiple days to avoid overworking themselves. Many observation decks can be found along the way, providing much-needed rest while admiring the natural landscape. Other amenities include picnic areas, camping grounds, washrooms, and more. The Appalachian Trail is pet friendly. Therefore you can bring your furry friends with you while you hike! Take a hike on the Sentier International des Appalaches, and you won’t regret it!
