01

At the Marine Environment Discovery Center, dive into the fascinating world of the Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park, from starfish to the largest marine mammals.

The museum showcases some of the marine life in the area, and tour guides will be delighted to fill you in on the local ecology and discoveries. There are several guided tours of the surrounding landscape and many activities for families to enjoy on their own. The surrounding area is renowned for beautiful underwater scenery inhabited by brightly coloured organisms. The shores of St. Lawrence, near Les Escoumins, are considered one of North America’s most beautiful underwater landscapes. The variety and abundance of the fauna and flora colours will surprise you. Diving guides and initiations are available directly from the Discovery Center.

The Saguenay–St. Lawrence Marine Park is also recognized as one of the best places in the world for whale watching. There are 13 species that frequent its waters, 6 of which are frequently observed. Don’t miss out on your opportunity to soak in these natural wonders!
