Don’t miss this unique museum full of old documents and operated by welcoming host Joanne Burroughs, the executive director of the Highland Grove Historical Society.
First built in 1890 by Walter Kidd, the school operated in the village of Kidd’s Corners until the 1920s.
It later served as a hunt camp and information booth until moving to its current location in 2004. Here, it was restored and reopened as a museum in 2010.

Geocaching (pronounced geo-cashing) is a family-friendly outdoor game. It is often referred to as “treasure hunting with a high-tech twist” because you use the geocaching.com website and either a GPS device or a smartphone. There is no charge to play.
A geocache (cache) is a container that someone has hidden. They record the coordinates (location) online so that you can find it. When you find it, you sign your user name inside, record your find online, and then go find another cache.
The Geocaching Capital of Canada is comprised of a string of seven hamlets:Â Irondale, Gooderham, Tory Hill, Wilberforce, Harcourt, Highland Grove and Cardiff. Most are located within the Municipality of Highlands East.

Nice large and spacious beach. The beach is sandy all the way out, with some sticks on the bottom. Good, clean water. With a superb view.
It is busy on the weekends with cottagers, but during the week, it is quiet.
