Jardin Botanique du Nouveau Brunswick

Jardin Botanique du Nouveau Brunswick is a beautifully designed and maintained botanical garden located in the Saint-Jacques neighbourhood in Edmundston.

The garden occupies 7 hectares of land next to the Madawaska River. It is home to over 80,000 unique plants.

The garden offers many attractions including thematic gardens, mosaicultures, phasmids, and more.

Petit-Salut Blockhouse

Petit-Salut Blockhouse is a small fort that was built as part of a defensive line that extended as far as Quebec during the Aroostook Bloodless War in 1841.

The fort was destroyed by lightning in 1855 and rebuilt in 2000. Originally Edmundston was named Petit-Sault (Little Falls) in reference to the waterfalls located where the Madawaska River merges into the Saint John River.

Cathedral of Immaculate Conception

Built between 1925 and 1927, the Cathedral of the Immaculate Conception first served as a parish church and then as a cathedral.

The craftsmanship exhibited in the building in terms of its nature, scale and location, have made it a landmark. It was named Canada’s Historic Place.

Mont Farlagne

Mont Farlagne is a mountain and ski resort area that offers beautiful views, winter activities, and comfortable lodging.

The mountain offers over a dozen groomed ski trails as well as dedicated trails for snowshoes, fat bikes, and tubing.

Madawaska Historical Museum

The Madawaska Historical Museum presents themed exhibitions and the Colline Art Gallery.

The museum has 2 exhibition rooms, the Heritage room and The Galerie Colline, in addition to a permanent antique collection. The Heritage room presents themed exhibitions all year, while The Galerie Colline is a center for contemporary art.

République Provincial Park

Festival Jazz et Blues d’Edmundston

In 1994, during a jazz show at the Jardins de la République (now called de la République provincial park), the artists on stage asked the crowd if they would like to see a Jazz and Blues festival in the Madawaska region.

The first edition of the Edmundston Jazz and Blues Festival was held in 1995.
