Robert Burnaby Park

This park is your one-stop shop! The most exciting part is the wood creatures in the forest and among the trees. There are 8 art sculptures that you’ll find as you stroll through the forest.

There are endless hiking trails, a great 9-hole disc golf course, a baseball field, a tennis court, a playground, and even an outdoor swimming pool! The park also has numerous picnic benches, so don’t forget to pack a lunch.

Burnaby Village Museum

Burnaby Village Museum contains 50,000 different artifacts preserving a 1920s Canadian village! This museum values stories from the heart, learning for fun, personal encounter with history, and memorable experience to last a lifetime. The museum encourages community and visitor participation and discovery.

Burnaby Village Museum is spread across 10 acres in Deer Lake Park. Whether it be scavenger hunts or holiday events, there is always something going on here.

Home Town of Michael J. Fox

The Back to the Future superstar Michael Fox grew up in Burnaby in the 1970s.

Michael Andrew Fox was born in Edmonton, Alberta, in 1961. His family lived in various cities and towns across Canada. In the early 1970s, Fox attended Burnaby Central Secondary School.

At age 15, Fox starred in the CBC series Leo and Me. In 1979, at age 18, he moved to Los Angeles.

The Michael J. Fox Theatre at Burnaby South Secondary School.

The Michael J. Fox Theatre opened in 1993 as part of Burnaby South Secondary School. In 1995, the theatre was officially named after Michael J. Fox in recognition of his achievements in the arts and commitment to the community. The theatre hosts a steady schedule of multicultural performances, dance, theatre, music and other community events.

Burnaby is the host city for Michael’s annual charity golf tournament.

Burnaby Central Railway

Fun for all but mainly for the kids. Here your young ones can enjoy train rides and learn a little more about them. All the locomotives are built to look like ones that have been or are in service on railways worldwide.

Home Town of Michael Bublé

Michael Bublé is a famous Canadian singer, songwriter, and record producer born here in Burnaby. Bublé has hit the Top 10 in Canada and the UK and many other top ten’s around the world. He plays piano and focuses on jazz, traditional pop, and swing genres. Bublé has won four Grammy Awards, multiple Juno Awards, and many other awards for his talent.

Michael and his wife have more than a 27,000-square-foot mansion in Burnaby, located across from his childhood Seaforth Elementary school.

Burnaby Mountain Conservation Area

Barnaby Mountain has the best views to watch the sunrise or sunset when visiting the area. Enjoy the nature and calm environment, and even take advantage of the trail that takes you to the rose garden.

There are plenty of great hiking trails with magnificent views of mountains and the water. The trails vary from beginner to intermediate.

Burnaby Mountain Centennial Rose Garden

Here you can find over 900 rose bushes flooded with fragrant buds. You will find that a rose is no longer “a rose is a rose is a rose.”

There are not only roses but also a beautiful view of the surrounding city and ocean.

Directions: From Lougheed Highway, turn north on Gaglardi Way to Centennial Way

Home Town of Christine Sinclair

Christine Sinclair is one of the best Canadian professional soccer players to play. Sinclair is a captain of the Portland Thorns FC in the National Women’s Soccer League and the Canadian national team. Sinclair has a very impressive and almost unbelievable resumé in the world of women’s soccer.

The Burnaby Community Center is named after Christine Sinclair.

Fraser Park Restaurant

Fraser Park restaurant’s goal is to serve handmade and homestyle food at a fair price, which is exactly what they do. This restaurant has become a local favourite because of the lovely atmosphere, good conversation, and tasty food. Some of their favourites include The German Breakfast, Schnitzel Burger, and Homemade Soups. A bonus is they serve breakfast all day!

Burnaby Fraser Foreshore Park

After your hearty meal at Fraser Park Restaurant, walk off your fullness in the beautiful park along the water. There are two paved asphalt trails to choose from, a resting area near the play structure, and covered picnic tables in the shaded woodland.

Washrooms are available beside the play structure.
