North Pacific Cannery

The North Pacific Cannery National Historic Site is the most established leftover flawless cannery on the West Coast of North America.

Situated on the beautiful Inverness Passage banks, the site offers guests a window into the past of this once bustling industry.

Flanked by mountains, the wooden designs are a forcing sight with their red rooftops, laying on heaps along the flowing riverbank and associated with promenades’ progression.

The wreck lobby has been changed over into an occasional little bistro that serves historically inspired snacks. The blessing shop highlights carefully assembled products from nearby artisans.

Tall Trees Trail

On sunny mornings it gives shocking perspectives on Prince Rupert harbour, furthermore, the encompassing mountains.

Roughly 4.5 km one way. The beginning of this as of late refreshed path is only a few hundred meters past the Butze Rapids parking area, on the inverse roadside. This climb will take you 450 meters up the side of Mount Oldfield.

The principal segment is broad and generally level yet rapidly gets steep, making this a decently troublesome climb.

Pacific Mariners Memorial Park

Pacific Mariners Memorial Park is located in the hub of Prince Rupert on a rocky, grassy bluff.

The Mariners Park pays tribute to the mariners lost at sea. A statue presents with an inscription “we are out there” and a memorial wall inscribed with bricks with names of the lost mariners at sea.

The park is between the shops and restaurants of Cow Bay and the Museum of Northern BC.

Sunken Gardens

Sunken Gardens sits on the first location designated for the community courthouses.

Sunken Gardens Park is a small two-level park with a short, pebbled walkway leading through a tunnel into an open area surrounded by brick walls and floral gardens.

The tunnels and foundation have been transformed into a community park today.

Ocean View from Rotary Waterfront Park

The Rotary Waterfront Park in Prince Rupert delivers spanning ocean views. It is an excellent opportunity to be upfront and personal with marine boats, yachts and barges. There are mountains and islands in the background, exploring the coastline and seabirds off in the distance.

 

Grey Whale Statue

Onsite is a carved statue of a Grey Whale and a calf, some floral planters. The whale statue was carved by Hans Siniarrski and donated to the City of Prince Rupert in 1985 to celebrate the 75th anniversary of the community.

Kwinitsa Railway Station Museum

Located on the edge of Prince Rupert’s harbour in Rotary Waterfront, the museum provides an exciting journey into the history of Canada’s northern railway and the many small stations like Kwinitsa along its route.

The little white station was built in 1911 close to the Skeena and Kwinitsa Rivers’ intersection, around 75 km east of Prince Rupert. In 1985, the station was moved by canal boat to its current area.

A late spring display appears what life resembled for rail route station masters and their families in the early piece of the twentieth century.

Rushrook Trail

You will discover the trailhead simply behind the Weaves on the Rocks building. This vast rock trail is reasonable for most capacities that skirt steep precipices at the water’s solid edge.

Recently remodelled in 2018, it highlights three great engineered overpasses, what is more, shocking perspectives up the harbour to the extent of Tuck Inlet. You will arise in Seal Cove, where you can brook Floats.

Rush roughly 1.5 km one way.

Wheelhouse Brewing

If you like beers, here is the best place in Prince Rupert.

Wheelhouse Brewing Company was opened in 2013. It is the favourite of all locals. Award-winning beers are named Scurvy Dog and Gillnetter.

You can test them with vinyl records or facilitating unrecorded music at the end of the week.

Prince Rupert Fire Museum

It is a small museum, but they have so many firefighting-related items.

The museum runs by local volunteers. It houses an affectionately reestablished 1925 REO Speed wagon fire engine. It includes an assortment of BC Police Force (1858-1950) antiquities and memorabilia.

Seafood & Sushi at Fukasaku

This distinctive sushi joint is the first in BC to be 100% ensured by the Vancouver Aquarium’s Ocean Wise program. It highlights wasabi from Nanaimo, BC, and BC purpose, and just the most morally reaped fish accessible.

The noon ramen unique is a very thing special for sure.
