South Baymouth Range Lighthouses

This lighthouse is a stunning place to relax and enjoy a peaceful view of the water or to stop for a picnic lunch, with ample shade and a picnic table. The nearby water is clear and blue, and the lighthouse is visible as it was recently raised on a new wooden boardwalk.

This is a popular spot to check out while visitors are waiting for the fairy, and there is a small nearby park for kids to play. There are several nearby walkways, bridges, and boardwalks through the scenic waterfront.

South Baymouth Lookout Trail

This hiking trail takes 20-30 minutes and is filled with biodiversity and native plant species. A portion of the hike is near the waterfront, looking out over the marina, the crystal-clear blue water and the ferries that dock nearby.

The trail entrance usually has a collection of walking sticks for visitors. There are also park benches and rest stops scattered throughout the trail.

South Baymouth Beach

On the southwest side of Manitoulin Island is South Baymouth Beach. This sandy beach is the perfect place to spend an afternoon or watch the sunset at night. Next to the beach is the South Bay Resort and Campground, where guests will find amenities

The water is crystal clear and blue, and the beach area is a great place to go for a swim, kayak, or paddle.

The Wigman Gift Shoppe & Motel

Started in 1930, the Wigman Gift Shoppe and Motel is a family-owned and operated store in South Baymouth. They sell many Manitoulin Island apparel and souvenirs, including hats, sweaters, shoes, and necklaces to browse. They also have a selection of cottage/home decor to bring the feeling of small-town Ontario to any household.

In addition to souvenir goods, they have an assortment of snacks and sell homemade fudge in their shop.

South Bay Resort & Campground

South Bay Resort allows guests to enjoy the beauty and nature of Manitoulin Island. Amenities include a boat launch, restrooms, laundry, and dish sites, as well as litter and recyclable receptacles.

This is the perfect spot for the whole family, as there is a playground for kids and several swimming spots. They have several rental trailers for visitors equipped with linens and utensils.

This small marina is a great place to relax and enjoy the peaceful views of Lake Huron. There are many local birds to watch and wildlife to enjoy nearby. Visitors can catch a ferry, as the Destination Manitoulin Island is operated out of this marina.

RC’s Diner is a great place to visit for those in the area looking to grab a quick bite. They serve classics like fresh sandwiches, fish, and chips, as well as fresh pies. They are known for their warming atmosphere and excellent service.

They also serve pizzas with homemade crust, pizza sauce, and fresh toppings. They are available for dine-in or patio in the summer and take-out.
