Centre Historique NDPS

The NDPS Historic Center is a museum dedicated to the appreciation of the Sisters of Notre-Dame du Perpetuel Secours (NDPS), the only religious congregation in Quebec whose head office remains active in a rural setting.

Visitors can enjoy the permanent exhibitions and the temporary ones as well. One exhibit has 24 paintings that recall the foundation of the NDPS sisters and their life in Saint-Damien. Visitors can also enjoy self-guided or guided tours of the conventual site.

However, the guided tour doesn’t include entry to the Souvenir House or the Chapel, as a specific reservation is needed.

Maison De La Culture De Bellechasse is a performing arts theatre highly recommended by locals. You can check their website for what shows are being performed and dates, and also purchase tickets.

Mechoui La ForĂŞt Noire is a restaurant known most famously for its meat-based meals. They specialize in boar and pig that has been turned on the spindle for 24 hours. Customers can also test beef or poultry as well as a salad, sauce, potato, and dessert.

If you are planning to host an event there, check in advance, as they are only open for six months of the year.

Club De Golf Bellechasee is the perfect golf course for all types of golfers. The club dates back to 1984 when the first project to create the golf course began. Today, it is a beautiful 18-hole course with a large surface of greens and tree-lined fairways.

Les Choux Gras, Cooperative Solidarite

This project allows community members to cooperate in caring for the earth and people and sharing fairly. The cooperation is rooted in the history of the Sisters of Our Lady of Perpetual Help. Based on the history with the sisters, the community intends for this site to experiment, produce, and promote local agroecology.

Not only do they teach local children about agriculture, but they also sell this fresh produce and give back to the community.
