Port Albert Beach

This white sand beach on Lake Huron is a serene place to relax and enjoy the warmer months. Located in the small town of Port Albert, Ontario, this clean, quiet beach has soft sand and clear blue water and is surrounded by forested areas and vegetation.

This is the perfect place to enjoy an afternoon or to watch the sunset over the water. There is often a sandbar, and on a clear day, you can see boats sailing for miles across Lake Huron. The site also has free parking and a washroom facility for guests.

Port Albert General Store & Pub

Since 1842, the Port Albert General store has been serving the community of Port Albert and all its visitors. This spot is a one-stop shop for anyone visiting the Port Albert area. The general store is great for getting ice cream or stocking up on camping equipment and snacks. If you need to get some drinks for your weekend in Lake Huron, you’ll find an LCBO conveniently located inside the general store. If you’re visiting in the summer, sometimes you’ll find a stand selling farm-fresh produce from the local community.

There is also a new pub serving classic handhelds like chicken wings, sandwiches, burgers, kid’s meals and build-your-own pizzas. The atmosphere is cozy, and the service is quick.

Lake Huron Resort

This seasonal resort is on beautiful Lake Huron and offers fun for the whole family. The resort is a modern accommodation equipped with a swimming pool, playground, and sports facilities. Firewood and ice are also both available on the site for campers.

An on-site gift shop offers cold treats, beach supplies, snacks, groceries, and more. They provide events and activities throughout the year, including yoga on the beach, mini golf, movie nights, campfires, and contests for their guests to enjoy.

Memorial Cairn

This cairn on Highway 21 near Port Albert marks the location of Royal Canadian Air Force No. 31 Air Navigation School, which operated during World War II from 1940 – 1945.

Point Farms Market and Miniature Golf

Point farms are a great place to stock up on camping essentials and enjoy some time outside. The Market has a great selection of cottage goods, groceries, and locally produced goods from the nearby communities, including meats, cheeses, and jams.

The well-maintained mini-putting course has been around for over 50 years and is suitable for the whole family. They have a wide selection of ice cream flavours to enjoy on a hot day, and a food truck often serves fresh-cut fries and specialty poutines.

Port Albert Fishway

The Port Albert Fishway is a lovely spot to visit if you’re in Port Albert downtown. Visitors will find several information boards where they can read about the local history of the Fishway and the surrounding environment

During certain times of the year, you can see fish making their way up the waterway and fish ladder. There is also a nearby grass area that makes a great picnic spot.

Goderich Sunset Golf Club

For over 50 years, the Goderich Sunset Golf Club has been a popular spot among golfers and tourists in the Goderich area. This spacious, well-maintained course is just a 10-minute drive from Port Albert and has two different courses.

The courses have tree-lined fairways, well-placed bunkers, and a river going through the greens. Several facilities include a pro shop, practice room and banquet rooms. The club also offers golf lessons for golfers of any skill level and age.

Happy Hollow Campground & RV Sales

Happy Hollows is the perfect place to spend a camping weekend in small-town Ontario. There are plenty of activities for the whole family, including an outdoor movie theatre, basketball, volleyball, horseshoes, an in-ground pool and a playground for kids.

There is also a recreation building on the campsite, with a pool table, ping pong and air hockey for guests to enjoy. Throughout the summer, there are karaoke and barn dances with a DJ, bingo, and other indoor games.
