Gin Cove Walking Trail

Gin Cove Walking Trail is a walking/running and hiking trail located in Mary’s Harbour. The trail is roughly 1.4km long and is suitable for hikers of all skill levels. Great Caribou Studio and Café

Great Caribou Studio is a boutique, gallery, art studio, and café located in the center of Mary’s Harbour. The studio is managed and run by Inuit artist Charlene Rumbolt, whose goal is to represent her art further and educate others on Indigenous culture. The studio displays her unique, original paintings and traditional Indigenous crafts paired with a café so visitors can enjoy coffee and baked goods while browsing the store.

Grenfell Shed and Wharf

Grenfell Shed and Wharf Municipal Heritage Site is a preserved building with historical significance. The shed is a two-story wooden building with a wooden wharf. It has many significant ties to Mary’s Harbour and was used as a dock for boats and vessels travelling to the town. Visitors will be able to learn about the significant events that unfolded around this building and its connection with Mary’s Harbour.

Red Bay National Historic Site

Red Bay National Historic Site is a preservation park well known for bowhead whale sightings. The site contains many hiking trails with interactive panels signifying the historical significance of each area. Visitors are also encouraged to look through the interpretation center, where they can see a massive chalupa used by traditional whalers and massive, assembled whale bones. Boats are also available for rental to be used on the water, and visitors can observe the remains of what was once known as the first large-scale whale oil production plant in the world.
