Lucan Area Heritage & Donnelly Museum

Founded in 1995, this heritage site is a crucial part of the local community within Lucan. Currently, they have 25 members working for them but are always looking for new ones to join.

The museum has shown the town’s growth over the years from starting as a temporary site to having its permanent location for visitors and residents to visit! If you are a history fan, you want to check out this gem and learn more about what makes the town around you flourish.

Contact the center directly to find out hours and book touring times because they vary depending on the season.

Lion’s Market St Park

Are you in the area with children? Or are you simply a fan of the outdoors? Then you are going to love Lion’s Park! It has newly updated and high-quality equipment for youth visiting the area to utilize while their family watches or strolls along the paths.

If playgrounds aren’t your thing, that’s okay! This park has fantastic places for you to hold gatherings, wedding receptions, and even picnics! It is close when you come into town, just from the main highway!

Donnelly Café & Taphouse + Pizzeria

Resemblant of the town history and the relation of the Donnelly family, the creators of this pub/café were a self-named group of misfits that came together in search of providing a unique dining experience to their patrons.

The café is proud of its continued support of local farmers, brewers, and organizations. It gives visitors an intimate feeling of the town and a more down-to-earth dining experience. If you are in Lucan and looking for a good bite of food, check them out. Not only will you be supporting a local business in town, but you might learn more about the rich history behind Lucan, Ontario.

Lucan Architectural Amish Furniture

Towards a group of people interested in classic works of furniture, Lucan has you. This location is dedicated to showing and providing customers with unique pieces of art and furniture. They handcraft their items with natural wood and Amish designed to show that no two pieces can ever be exactly alike.

On their website, they admit that the people looking to buy their art are not the kinds that will seek out poorer, less high-quality resources. Once again, shops like this highlight Lucan’s community and their inner strength to complete certain actions. If you are a furniture lover, I’d highly recommend checking them out for unique pieces when in town.

Lucan Conservation Area

This conservation area is full of trails, fishing, and picnic spots! Perfect to stop by when in town. Visitors can stroll along the nature trails in the park and build themselves a picnic, all the while getting a greater appreciation for the outdoors.

Also, those who partake in geocaching will be delighted to know that there is one geocache within the park itself! The conservation area is sat along the Little Ausable River and is lovely for people of all ages to attend and enjoy, even for just an afternoon. Perfect for anyone that wants to get out and get a fresh breath of air.
