Made On Earth Art Gallery

Made On Earth Art Gallery is the first environmentally friendly gallery. It was opened in 2009 by Rick Sommer. The gallery features a courtyard for artists to showcase their work.

The gallery is environmentally friendly because Rick’s art supplies are often from the dump, so he does not create more waste but instead reuses materials. Another reason is that other galleries often cut down trees to make space for their work. On the other hand, Rick has made it his goal not to engage in such activities that are harmful to the environment.

Big Bend Conservation Area

The Big Band Conservation Area offers group and family camping. Most campsites are available online, but there are a few walk-in sites for those who may be camping last minute or did not reserve online.

There are a total of 48 campsites which are open alongside serviced washroom buildings that have a shower. However, the campsite does not have a dumping station. Aside from camping, the conservation area has boat launches and facility rentals. Hunting is not permitted under the Conservation Authorities Act, meaning you can not place tree stands in illegal places or use game cameras, blinds, and other structures.

Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum

The Ska-Nah-Doht Village and Museum is home to the longhouse village, which depicts Haudenosaunee life from 1,000 years ago.

The village and the museum are owned and managed by the Lower Thames Valley Conservation Authority. The museum is interactive and engages the public with First Nation history through on-site and community experience. Most artifacts come from excavating two archaeological sites from the Ska-Nah-Doht Village.

Jin’s Wicked Wok

“Most efficient and consistent restaurant in Glencoe. After having a horrible experience at another local establishment, we placed our order for eight people. Rather large order. It was ready and packaged up in 15 minutes. They saved the day for us.”
