Confederation Trail

The Confederation Trail traverses Prince Edward Island from tip to tip and is best explored on foot or by bicycle. The major path runs 273 kilometres from west to east, from Tignish to Elmira, following a dismantled railway line.

Branch paths connect little towns and localities, including the capital city of Charlottetown. The slopes on this rolling stone dust path never surpass 2%, making it accessible for people of all fitness levels.

In Georgetown, you can stroll on the boardwalk leading you to the Confederation Trail. On your walk up, make sure you stop to admire the beautiful Brudenell River. From Georgetown, you can easily make it a day hike up to the neighbouring town of Montague or the village of Cardigan, where you can continue to explore even more of rural King’s County.
