Freligh Mill

This beautiful old house – Richard Freligh’s Mill, was built in 1839 on the site of an older one built by his father, Abraham, at the end of the 18th century.

Abraham Freligh, a physician of German origin, was one of the American Loyalists who established Frelighsburg as a colony in the late 1790s.

Great place for selfies.

Au Coeur de la Pomme

This beautiful orchard has been growing and flourishing since 1982, and now, from August to November, you can come here and pick apples to your heart’s content. A historic dairy farm from 1856—which belonged to Prime Minister Adélard Godbout—now houses a shop and vinegar factory.

There is a wide range of products available to purchase, such as their artisanal apple cider vinegar, as well as an assortment of jams, jellies, mustards, marinades, confits, and baked goods!

Domaine Pinnacle

More interested in tasting than picking?

Here is a family-owned orchard and cidery that produces world-renowned ice ciders—which have received dozens of awards and praise from wine critics, chefs, and sommeliers. In fact, Domaine Pinnacle is the largest exporter of ice cider, distributed in nearly sixty countries on five continents.

Guided tours are available—groups require reservations—or you can explore the orchard on your own. They also offer free tastings of their products, making it easier to decide which ones you want to buy and take home (they make fantastic gifts—both to yourself and others). On top of it all, you get a breathtaking view of the mountains.

Ferme du Haut Vallon

This small farmhouse is a total family—and community—affair!

Initially established in 2005 by Denise and Pierre, their daughter, Jasmine, joined the business in 2013, and now their son, Nicholas, is part of the team, too—but still, they are not alone. Friends and family help them with sugars, harvesting, and even the birthing of lambs!

A farm determined to use environmentally and animal-friendly methods, Ferme du Haut Vallon has four main productions that overlap throughout the seasons. Approximately 140 lambs are born each spring and graze with their mother until July. From the end of August, they have a variety of certified organic apples that can be purchased until sold out, such as Honeycrisp, Spartan, Ariane, Topaz, and more! Their organic garlic is harvested in July, dried until August, and sowed in the fall. Maple syrup is harvested and produced every spring—along with their delicious maple butter—and like their other products, is available until stock runs out.

Oneka Elements

Oneka was founded in 2007 by Stacey, who suffered from eczema for over 20 years, and Philippe, who lived his whole life being allergic to synthetic fragrances. The farm was bought in 2013 and only took one year to become certified organic—and the Oneka lab opened at the farm in 2021. Their business accepts an all-natural, environmentally friendly, and sustainable approach, incorporating plants grown on their farm into their products. They have a range of hair, body, and face care, which means you’re covered head to toe.

You must visit their fragrant boutique to stock up on all the goods—and don’t worry when you run out, you can restock by ordering from their website!

Beat & Betterave

Founded in 2015 by Ludovic and Éloïse, Beat & Betterave is a café serving breakfast, lunch, and dinner, using ingredients they grow, such as kale, cucumbers, beets, squash, and more. They even brew their beer! On weekend evenings, they are also a bar and music venue that hosts events you don’t want to miss (you want to check their event schedule online to see what’s going on and when).

The food, coffee, beer, and music are just a bonus. What brings people to Beat & Betterave is the sense of community—of families and friendships, both new and old. You come here to eat, chat, relax and remember you’re not alone.

Bureau d’Accueil Touristique

Open from May to October, the Frelighsburg tourist reception office can be found inside the Grammar School building, once the village’s English school. Here, you will be welcomed by warm, friendly staff who are happy to help and answer any questions.

There are local products available to purchase at good prices, and an Art Center upstairs that displays works of unique artists (often local).

If you are a first-time visitor to Frelighsburg, this is a great, informative place to begin your trip!
