Fraser Lake Museum

Fraser lake museum is located at the visitor information center. It is a fine example of log-home construction.

The museum displays remnants of the rich history of the Fraser Lake area and an informative display of Dakelh culture. It usually opens in the summertime.

White Swan Park

This free park is one of the nicest campgrounds in Fraser Lake. The park site is with a beach view in front.

It is secluded from the city and a very quiet place.

Beaumont Provincial Park

Beaumont Provincial Park opens views of Fraser Lake, and a breeze that keeps the mosquitoes away awaits campers.

In the 1840s, Beaumont was the site of the historic Fort Fraser, and there are still a few signs of habitation around the park.

Red Rock Volcano

Red Rock Volcano is an extinct volcano. It has 25-million-year-old lava beds. Some trees are one-hundred-year-old and still thrive inside the volcano’s crater.

Trails to Red Rock, also known as Tabletop Mountain, lead from the Stellaq’o Village.

Rock Red Mountain is a sacred spiritual site. Before hiking the mountain, you must get permission from the Stellat’en Band Office. (250) 699-8747

Trumpeter Swans

Trumpeter Swans, the largest swan in the world, can be seen on the Nautley River and the area between Stellako River and Fraser Lake. Fraser Lake is a globally significant wintering site for Trumpeter Swans.

The bridge east of Fraser Lake is a good vantage point from which to view the largest swans.

Take the Beaumont Provincial Park exit on Hwy. 16, just west of Fort Fraser, to access the Nautley River.

Nautley River

Nautley River is one of the shortest rivers in the world. It is only 800 metres in length. Nautley River drains Fraser Lake into the Nechako River.

It is a traditional salmon fishing spot for local Nadleh Whut’en First Nation People.

Mouse Mountain Trails

Hikers can enjoy the Mouse Mountain Hiking trail and the Ormand Creek Trail on the north shore of Fraser Lake. It is just beyond Peterson’s Point Campsite.

These trails are used for cross-country skiing in winter. In the fall, these trails provide a splendid view of hundreds of swans gathering in preparation for their journey south for the winter.

Sports Fishing

Some of Canada’s best sport fishing can be found in the Vanderhoof/Bulkley Valley region.

In the summer, the Stellako river sees a great annual salmon run. Stellako River is between Fraser Lake and Francois Lake to the east, making it a superb spin-casting and flyfishing river. It also provides excellent fishing for the rainbow trout.

Molyhills Golf Club is a place to visit for people who enjoy playing golf. It is in the heart of the beautiful Glenannan tourist area, on the shores of East Francois Lake.

Molyhills offers a short but challenging par 36 golf course with scenic views of Francois Lake.
