Foxwarren museum is dedicated to the pioneer women of the area. The inside represents the day-to-day activities of a pioneer family.

Foxwarren Rink

Recommended by Dawson Barteaux

The “Coldest Rink in North America”

The Foxwarren rink has been busy over the years as people come together to share a passion for all things skating, whether it’s hockey, figure skating, or just a few leisurely laps around the ice. And while the rink has a reputation for being one of the coldest ones around, the warmth of the people is second to none.

The community’s first arena was opened in January 1912, while this current building opened in December 1949, costing $30,000 at the time and home to four NHL players.

Foxwarren Memorial Garden

Recommended by Jan Doyle

The Foxwarren Memory Garden was opened in 2002 as a tribute to the town’s forefathers. Nearly a quarter acre in the middle of Foxwarren has created a garden of pathways meandering through flower beds filled with perennials and stepping stones. The stones bear the names of those who have completed their journey in life.

Over 500 stepping stones and 250 paintings commemorate the pioneers and loved ones. As you step into the garden, you can pause and reflect- remembering and enjoying the scent and beauty of the myriad flowers blooming for them. The project has been planned as an ongoing garden allowing stones and flowers to be added for many years. The stepping stones are handcrafted by the committee and volunteers.

Foxwarren Astrobiology Institute

Recommended by Cathy Moines

This is a small astrobiology institute located in the town of Foxwarren. It is a part of the NASA Astrobiology Program’s bold new structure to mobilize the astrobiology community towards impacting future NASA space missions and answering the fundamental questions; How does life begin and evolve? Does life exist elsewhere in the Universe? How do we search for life in the Universe?

This new approach includes a virtual collaboration system consisting of “Research Coordination Networks” (RCNs). These RCNs are designed to enable the research community to self-organize, collaborate, communicate, and network across organizational, divisional, and geographical boundaries.
