No. 701 Steam Engine

Victim Of Progress

The 701 is the last steam locomotive to make its regular run on the Ontario Northland Rails before introducing diesel use in this area. Built at Kingston in 1921, this engine retired from service in July 1957.

The engine, anchored beside the Ontario Northland Railway Station, serves as a historical monument for the town. Don’t miss the selfie with the 701.

Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park

The Kap-Kig-Iwan Provincial Park is surrounded by a forest, several campsites, and a river. The Englehart River’s water travels quickly through a valley and cascades into a beautiful waterfall.

You’ll have multiple opportunities to explore the park, walk through the pretty trails, and, best of all, get wet and play in the huge waterfall.

Furthermore, Englehart River Valley is famous for its panoramic views and bird-watching.
