This impressive historical society showcases the rich history of Buckingham. For over 25 years, they have showcased the community’s industrial, living, and natural heritage and how it has changed over time.

Petrie Island Beach

This famous beach makes for a fun day in nature, with white sand and clear blue water. There is something to do for everyone, including a play structure, beach volleyball court and other outdoor recreational activities. 

Located on a small island on the Ottawa river, there are sandy areas as well as forests with small trails to explore. This is a perfect spot to picnic, swim, canoe, and spend time outdoors. There are several bird species in the area for birdwatching and a turtle sanctuary nearby to explore.

Parc de l’Érablière

This newly renovated park is perfect for cooling down on a hot summer day. There is a full splash pad, a playground, and picnic tables and benches for visitors.

The park also has beautiful views of nature and plenty of nearby wildlife to enjoy. It is open year-round.

Librairie Rose-Marie

This bookstore has been a favourite in the community since 1985. They have a wide selection of French, English and Spanish books and an online website to shop.

In addition to reading materials, they have art supplies, games, gifts, and a large selection of school supplies for students.

Corporation plein air de la Lièvre

This rental service is a great way to enjoy the warmer months and the nature surrounding the Ottawa river. They offer rentals for kayaks, paddle boarding and canoeing, as well as ziplining and other outdoor equipment. 

There are also courses and events like stand-up yoga to suit everyone. In addition to the water activities, several scenic hiking trails are nearby with lookout stops for guests to visit.

Club De Golf De Buckingham

The Buckingham golf club opened its first nine-hole course in 1933 and 18-hole course in 1987. More than 80 years after opening, this is still a popular spot to visit in the warmer months for avid golfers and beginners alike.

The greens are well-maintained, offering private lessons, group lessons, and school programs to suit everyone. In addition to the greens, there is a pro shop and clubhouse for guests to enjoy a meal.
