Murtle Lake is world-renowned as the largest canoe-only lake in North America. Set in a beautiful mountain valley, with the North and West arms approximately 20 km long.
The West arm is known for its white sandy beaches and open scenery. The North arm has large mountains and meadows that are great for watching wildlife.

Blue River Black Spruce Provincial Park has oxbows, sandbars, and uplands in the North Thompson River. The park protects the black spruce in the region and provides nature study and ecological education opportunities. The park also includes river access for canoeing.

Mud Lake Delta Provincial Park stretches across 500 hectares and protects natural floodplains, wetlands, beaver ponds, small oxbow lakes, and other delta formations. The park is home to moose and grizzlies in the spring. Popular activities in the area include nature study, wildlife viewing, fishing, and hunting.

The park protects water life, such as bull trout, Coho salmon, and Chinook salmon. It is also home to Grizzly bears, moose, and various bird species.
