Les Ecuries Mistouk

Outdoor enthusiasts will appreciate a horseback ride through Boreal Forest’s winding trails and magnificent landscapes bordered by the Mistouk River. Their majestic horses are extremely well-kept and healthy and live their lives to the fullest in the open pasture.

The horses are wonderfully friendly, and the guides are most professional and pleasant. They carefully pair everyone with an amazing horse and take great care to provide detailed instructions to first-time riders.

Odyssée Des Bâtisseurs

Their exhibitions will genuinely surprise you. They show a wide range of nuanced histories of the surrounding area, such as hydroelectricity, archeological sites, culture, and the history of Alma itself. Much of their exhibition is interactive and immersive, such as disguising yourself with old outfits from other centuries or trying to solve an unsolved murder from the 1920s.

The experiences are suited for all ages, including children. In the water tower, their latest addition is a multisensory 360-degree movie called ‘The Inner Sea.’ The museum can be characterized as a journey through time, and its timeline of the evolution of photographic technology helps you relive the region’s history.

Passerelle du centenaire

This new bridge is made of aluminum, resting on a central pillar in the center of the river and is equipped with a hi-tech lighting system in the structure, illuminating it at night. It’s a great addition to a stroll through Alma, as you see the river rushing by below. There is a park beside the games for children, complete with water jets, public toilets, and free parking nearby: a beautiful Promenade and a cycle path running along the river on either side of the bridge.

Through October, they keep the bridge illuminated pink to raise awareness for breast cancer. In pairing, the local hospital nearby is also illuminated during October with green, the colour of hope. The bridge was renewed as an all-aluminum structure for the 150th anniversary of Alma.
