The boreal and mixed forests, two significant ecosystems, converge in the Zec area. This forest territory has a variety of environments, each with unique qualities, such as enormous mature trees, trees with uncommon species, and regions with much wildlife.

More than 120 different bird species have been recorded by ZEC; turtles are also widely distributed.
