The last weekend of June

The discovery and extraction of the numerous resources in the lower Elk Valley continued in the 19th and early 20th centuries, but few inhabitants risked the untamed frontier in the Elkford region.

‘Wildcat’ Charlie Weigert, a trapper renowned for his hospitality in the region and for whom the annual Elkford event ‘Wildcat Days’ is called, was one of the most notable characters. Parades, a Craft & Trade Show, garage sales, a climbing wall, a soapbox derby, a pancake breakfast, live stage entertainment, a family fun zone, and much more are all part of the festival. These community activities will take place on the last weekend of June.
