Van Gogh's sunflowers
The Sunflower Capital of Canada

The world’s largest painting on an easel is located in Altona and is a likeness of Vincent Van Gogh’s ‘Sunflowers’ painting.

An artist by the name of Cameron Cross was teaching in Altona when he came up with the idea to create the largest painting on an easel. The landmark is 76’ 6” high and is on a steel easel.

The painting is a popular landmark as it is a symbol of international fine art and celebrates Altona’s reputation of being the Sunflower Capital of Canada.
