History

The St. Marys Community Players (SMCP) is a community group theatre created in 1974 and located in the Town Hall Theatre. If you are lucky to be in town while a play is in motion, you will not want to miss out. Past plays include Cabaret, Anne of Green Gables, and Steel Magnolias. SMCP holds spring and fall production plays as well as improv workshops.

The limestone building was built in 1901 and designed by George Wallace Gouinlock. Its window arches, large entrances, and stonework can be admired by anyone passing by.
