Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival

August

The Sioux Lookout Blueberry Festival has been in existence since 1983.

It is a ten-day festival celebrating Sioux Lookout and its unique and diverse culture. With over 100 events, the Blueberry Festival has become a grand summer celebration attracting thousands of visitors from throughout the region and around the world.

Starting on the Friday before the August long weekend and lasting for ten fun-filled days, residents and visitors come together to form a bond of great communal spirit. Many of the events encompass the beauty of the area, allowing participants and spectators to enjoy the plentiful lakes and beaches.

Umfreville Park & Trail

Umphreville Park is a historical site that predates the town itself.

The Umfreville Trail Is an 8km long paved path in Sioux Lookout that is accessible to all. Along the trail are picnic tables, rest areas, and washrooms.

Home Town of Ryan Parent

Ryan Parent is a former NHL player who was raised in Sioux Lookout. Parent was drafted 18th overall in the 2005 NHL draft and would go on to play 106 games in the NHL.

Parent won two gold medals at the World Junior Championships for Team Canada in 2006 and 2007.

Ojibway Provincial Park

Located 25km southwest of Sioux Lookout, Ojibway Provincial Park backs onto Little Vermillion Lake.

The park was established in 1963 and features a boat launch, fishing, swimming, a park, hiking/biking, and camping.
