House of Tales and Legends

Built as the residence of Lavaltrie sculptor Lucien Benoit, the neo-Victorian building became home to art in March 2009. Many artists and craftsmen from the area got together to create the house turned Museum to preserve Lavaltrie’s history. The museum opened in September 2010 and now hosts a museum, meeting space, and performance hall.

The House is also home to the Pierre-Kemp Genealogy Library, named after Mr. Pierre Kemp, the 1995-1999 mayor of Saint-Antoine-de-Lavaltrie. Learn Lavaltrie’s history in tales and legends at this beautiful museum!
