History

Kapsovar, established in 1886, was one of the first Hungarian settlements in Canada.

Located just south of Esterhazy, the Kaposvar Historical Site is a mirror into history. The site features a large fieldstone church completed in 1907, a two-storey fieldstone rectory constructed in 1901, a fieldstone shrine, and a cemetery on landscaped grounds surrounded by a hedge.

There are tours offered of the Kapsovar and an annual pilgrimage in August.
