picture of mike richards

Born in Kenora, Mike Richards had a long and storied NHL career playing nearly 800 games.

Richards won Olympic Gold with Team Canada at the 2010 Vancouver Olympics, a Memorial Cup with the Kitchener Rangers, and two Stanley Cups with the Los Angeles Kings.

A street in Kenora, near a recreation centre, is named after Mike Richards – Mike Richards Way.

The Stanley Cup was won by the Kenora Thistles hockey team in 1907.

Kenora is the smallest city to have ever gotten the Stanley Cup.
