The historic mill pond is a prominent feature of the Alton Mill site. It is highly visible from the main street of the village.
The bridge over Shaw’s Creek was the original entrance into the woollen mill for wagons, carriages, carts and later automobiles. Now the bridge is restricted to pedestrians.
