Ivujivik is a favourite hunting place due to its abundance of wildlife in the area, even for Inuit not from the village. A website informs hunters and fishers of the quality of hunting for each day of the year.

In the winter, there are plenty of seals and walruses. In the spring, there are many birds, including the largest colony of thick-billed murres, a bird that looks like a penguin. Saltwater fish are plentiful in the summer, and pods of beluga whales pass by the community during their migrations.
