Agate Pits

Discover rare finds and unearth buried treasures when you visit the Souris Agate Pits.

Regarded as North America’s largest deposit of semi-precious gems, this twelve-acre glacial deposit is known for agates, but the site has also yielded epidote, jasper, petrified wood, and additional varieties of stones, unique to this area.

Travellers from all over the globe come in search of some semi-precious stones and fossils from the Paleozoic and Mesozoic eras found her.

Although the Agate Pit is privately owned, permits and tours are available at their very own rock shop on site.

Canada’s Longest Swinging Bridge

That’s right Souris is home to Canada’s longest swinging bridge, measuring at 604 feet.

With a lot of history behind this official Manitoba Star attraction, like it originally being built in 1904 and reconstructed due to the great floods through the province.

With an estimated 5000 visitors a year, not all have the courage to cross the famous bridge, do you?

The Mystical Old Oak Tree

It’s estimated that the tree has been left unfettered since 1497 A.D., which pre-dates all recorded history in North America.

Legend tells that the oak is more than 600 years old and freely offers “an aura of spiritual peace and knowledge” to those seeking it, making it a celebrity focal point for all who visit.

Will the Oak tree give you transcendent knowledge…there’s only one way to find out.
