Have you always wanted to make your own honey? Or maybe you’re just curious about these fascinating creatures. This 2 hour workshop will give you the ABCs of beekeeping. You will learn many of the common mistakes made (there are many) so new beekeepers can get off on the right foot. The workshop takes place at Haute Goat Farm, just one hour east of Toronto and the leader is Steve Lawrence from Sweet Dreams Farms who makes gorgeous artisan honeys. Steve Lawrence from Dare 2 Dream Farm – Sweet Dream Foods owns a family farm south of Peterborough. You will get an opportunity to learn about their amazing vinegar, mustards and artisan honeys. The Lawrences bought their current farm in 2013 after Steve turned his life around from Lyme’s Disease Treatment involved using only natural sweeteners. The Lawrence’s are beekeepers and produce maple syrup/ honey Sweet Dream Food is the family business that creates unique products from Canada’s Natural Sweeteners – honey and maple syrup Their liquid honey earned overall 1st place at the Royal Winter Fair in 2017. Steve will discuss beekeeping challenges and how they craft their unique products.
